New year, new directions. As of July 1, 2011, I am no longer maintaining this blog on Your Body of Wisdom. Rather I have moved everything back to Integrative InSight, which was my original starting point. So maybe it isn’t a new direction, but rather full circle. Please visit my blog, Musings of a Pragmatic Mystic, which contains many new posts. And remember to subscribe to my free mini-course so that you can receive both newsletter and blog updates....

Saying “Yes” to Me … The Business End Of Things

Posted by on Apr 27, 2011 in Say Yes To Me, Speaking Your Truth, Uncategorized, Yoga | 1 comment

Many of you read my chapter titled “Say ‘Yes’ to Me” in last year’s best-seller, Speaking Your Truth: Courageous Stories from Inspiring Women. When I wrote that chapter, I felt as if the very foundations of my life had shifted. I wrote that I knew that there would be ripple effects, but didn’t know what. Well, now I know! Unexpectedly, that mantra empowered me to change my relationship towards my business. Integrative InSight has always been my way to share what I’ve learned with others, in the hopes that tools I’ve learned...

Words From Emmanuel

Posted by on Apr 6, 2011 in Yoga | 6 comments

Feeling deep mourning today as I received word that the Yoga Therapy teacher who first invited me to open to the wholeness of who I am … who taught me tools to locate the wisdom that resides within me by shifting my awareness away from my mind candy … who said, “Tell Meenal that she cannot ask another question unless she first knows the answer” … who loved me enough to say that because she trusted me more than I was able to trust myself … that this beautiful and wise teacher is transitioning from body to...

For the past 4.5 years I have been sharing opportunities to learn and practice Nonviolent Communication (NVC) through my website and newsletter. I know that many of you have been wondering about the connection with meditation and yoga and while the intuitive knowing has been there all along for me, the words to explain it to you haven’t. Until recently … The following video shares what I see to be the natural connection between NVC, Meditation and Yoga. This video shares my single-most powerful life-changing “Oh my gosh! THAT’s...

Couldn’t wait to share with you … Healing With The Masters Spring 2011

Posted by on Feb 22, 2011 in Say Yes To Me | 2 comments

Last fall, I shared Healing With The Masters with you, an incredible opportunity to hear for free some of the world’s foremost experts on conscious change. At the time, I sent the notice to my newsletter community. I feel fortunate to have my blog now to share this with a larger audience. While my schedule did not permit me to attend many of the calls live in the fall, those that I did attend provided me with the exact insights that I needed to shift my awareness around a particular problem or pattern that was up for me at that time. What...

Energy Efficiency … Transitioning from a High Guzzler Way of Life.

Posted by on Feb 15, 2011 in confessions of a recovering overworked overwhelmed overachiever, Uncategorized | 0 comments

During a Phoenix Rising Yoga Therapy session, transitions are moments to be savored. They occur in the space in-between … in-between left side and right side; in-between stretch and counter-stretch; in-between one movement and the next. Essentially, transitions are the pauses … the time to notice the changes, the time to notice the space that has been created within the physical body and the mind, the time to digest what has happened. As a practitioner, I savor them because so many insights occur in the transitions … a...

Contrary to what you may think … taking a step back can be the best choice!

Today, January 21st, was supposed to be the day that I revealed my revamped and renewed on-line version of my Mpowerment Meditations self-study course. I felt so excited by my vision of this launch! On the technology side, there would be ease in signing up, payment plan options, course would be distributed once a week without my needing to mess with it, my newsletter list would be updated automatically … all of the previously unidentified and yet missing pieces would be filled. My course is a Body-Mind solution to the pain that many...

Stroke Identification

Posted by on Jan 21, 2011 in Meditation | 1 comment

On December 1, 2010, my father lost his short-term memory. We’ve had many strokes in my extended family and we’re blessed that my mother had the presence of mind to remember the warning signs from an email that she had received. She got him to the emergency room within 30 minutes and we’re blessed that he regained his memory within 6 hours. He had an incidence of temporary global amnesia, which like a stroke is caused by restricted blood-flow to the brain. My mother’s quick reaction supported a positive outcome. She just resent...

Stepping Into the Twilight Zone (Part 2)

Posted by on Jan 11, 2011 in confessions of a recovering overworked overwhelmed overachiever | 0 comments

Two days after writing my last entry, my friend, Kelila – the one who I called for support – shared this TED talk by Brene Brown with me. Brene Brown summarizes so eloquently the shift that I’ve been experiencing in this past year. What struck me the most is what she says about emotions. Intellectually, I knew that I had numbed myself in response to those assaults long ago, but I never stopped to consider that emotional numbing is not selective. In numbing myself to fear, pain, sadness, anger, I had unknowingly numbed myself to...
